About this festival
Odia New Year. The day marks the Sun's ingress into Aries. Houses make Bela Pana (wood-apple cooler with jaggery, milk, pepper and yoghurt) and offer it to deities. Public meri-pana stalls in temple courtyards.

Bela Pana is distributed free at most temples 11:00–14:00. Try Lingaraj, Ananta Vasudeva and Brahmeshwar pana.
