About this festival
Sunrise sun-worship festival. Devotees gather at the sacred tanks around the Khandagiri Jain caves before dawn for ritual baths and arghya offerings to Surya. A daylong fair of folk music, religious discourses and food stalls.
Traveller tip
Reach before 05:00 for the sun-arghya ritual at the kunds. Carry a brass/copper lota if you have one.
